At Chapman University, we produce and host thousands of events each year that contribute to the academic and cultural experience of our students and other community members. To ensure the successful coordination of major campus events and the effective use of university resources, certain dates each year are designated as restricted for event scheduling. During these times, event approvals are limited and must directly align with and contribute to the primary activity taking place.
Chapman faculty, staff, and students should not plan, promote, or enter into contracts or agreements for event services or speakers on these dates without first consulting with Event Operations.
Please also note that due to limited guest parking, events should not be planned for Monday through Thursday before 4 p.m. if external guests are involved.

- Feb. 27–28, 2026: State of the University Address & Parent Spring Summit
- March 11, 2026: Spring Career Fair
- March 27, 2026: University Holiday
- April 11, 2026: Preview Day
- May 22–24, 2026: Commencement
- May 25, 2026: University Holiday
2026–27 Academic Year Restricted Dates

- July 3–6, 2026: University Holiday
- Aug. 18–23, 2026: Orientation
- Sept. 7, 2026: University Holiday
- Sept. 16, 2026: Fall Career Fair
- Sept. 26, 2026: Chapman Open House
- Oct. 2–3, 2026: Homecoming
- Nov. 26–27, 2026: University Holiday
- Dec. 24, 2026–Jan. 3, 2027: University Holiday
- Jan. 18, 2027: University Holiday
- Jan. 26–28, 2027: Spring Orientation
- Jan. 28–31, 2027: Sorority Recruitment
- Feb. 12 or 15, 2027 (until 3 p.m.): Presidents’ Day Admission Event
- Feb. 17, 2027: Spring Career Fair
- Feb. 26–27, 2027: State of the University Address & Parent Spring Summit

Please note that events will not be approved during these timeframes unless they are directly connected to and enhance the primary event, and do not create logistical or resource conflicts. If your department is considering an event during one of these periods, please reach out to Event Operations as early as possible to discuss.
