Dear Faculty and Staff,
On Presidents’ Day, Feb. 16, Chapman University will welcome admitted students and their families to campus for a special visit experience that plays a pivotal role in the enrollment journey. With many high schools closed that day, this is a unique opportunity for prospective students to fully experience Chapman while classes are in session, and the campus is lively.
Meeting and Greeting Our Future Panthers
This half-day visit offers future Panthers an authentic, personalized look at life at Chapman. For many attendees, this will be their first time on campus, making first impressions especially meaningful. The sights, sounds, and interactions they experience help them see themselves as part of our community.
Enrollment success is a shared responsibility, and our people truly make the difference. Small moments like warm greetings, smiles, helpful directions, and a welcoming presence go a long way in building confidence and a sense of belonging for our guests. Every positive interaction helps admitted students envision themselves as Panthers.
Parking That Day
To support the event, Anderson Parking Structure Level B1 (upper level) will be reserved for prospective students and their families. Level B2 (lower level) and both levels of the expansion areas will be available for our commuter students. Please note that Anderson disabled spaces and EV charging stations will be available for those with valid credentials/permits and are not reserved for guests.
Faculty and staff who normally park in Anderson will be asked to use the First Christian Church of Orange lot at 1130 E. Walnut Ave. If that lot reaches capacity, overflow parking will be available at First Presbyterian Church of Orange, located at 180 N. Grand St. Parking at First Presbyterian Church is available from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
You may choose to walk to campus from the First Christian Church, or take advantage of shuttle service to and from the Schmid Gate, running every 5–8 minutes from 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
Please note: Parking on city streets or in public lots when working or teaching on campus is a violation of our Parking Policy and Agreement with the City of Orange, so please make use of the designated offsite parking locations instead of parking in the surrounding neighborhood, where you could receive a citation from the Orange Police Department.
As a thank you for your cooperation, the Chapman Parking team will have a token of appreciation for you when you arrive. Additionally, the Admission team will provide coffee and treats from 7:30–9:30 a.m. in the First Christian Church parking lot to enjoy when you get to work.
Alternatively, public transit may be a good option for some of our faculty and staff that day.
In Closing
Thank you for your flexibility, your support, and for helping us showcase the best of Chapman University. Your engagement and hospitality play a vital role in creating a memorable and meaningful experience for our future Panthers.
Best,
Rick Bischoff
Senior Vice President of Enrollment Management
