Chapman Honors Its Own

Chapman Sets Fundraising Record
Chapman raised $72.4 million in 2025-26, the most generous year in university history. Nearly 80% went toward endowed funds, meaning this generosity will support Chapman students for generations to come.

New Leadership for Student Affairs
Genia Herndon, Ed.D., will join Chapman as Senior Vice President for Student Affairs on July 31, following a national search. Herndon brings nearly two decades of student affairs leadership at the University of Colorado Denver, where she successfully led many different facets of the student affairs portfolio.

Rick Turner to Retire
Rick Turner, Vice President of Facilities Management, Property Management, and University Services, has announced his retirement at the end of the calendar year. We will plan to celebrate Rick, who has made a remarkable impact on Chapman over the last 15 years, in the fall semester.

Search Update
The recent EVP/Chief Operating Officer search revealed that the COO portfolio, as currently written in the leadership profile, is too broad in scope. The university will pivot and instead search for a Chief Financial Officer to ensure that its strong financial momentum continues. In addition, the university is moving away from the traditional COO model and, instead, distributing this portfolio among some our most talented and accomplished leaders: SVPs Nidhi Vogt and Marie Williams — both of whom serve under EVP and Chief of Staff Amy Rogan-Mehta — as well as EVP and Chief Advancement Officer Jessica Berger.

Return to Campus Initiative Begins Aug. 3
Chapman staff and administrators will return to campus five days a week beginning Monday, Aug. 3. The transition reflects the university’s mission to provide a personalized education and the Chapman Family culture that makes it possible.

New Contract Submission Process Now In Effect
All contracts must now be submitted through Chapman’s new Contract Agent. Visit contracts.chapman.edu for step-by-step instructions, templates, and training.

Update on Camera and Video Equipment Lending
Beginning Aug. 3, the Strategic Marketing and Communications office will discontinue its camera and videography equipment lending program. The office can provide guidance on capturing photos and video with a smartphone, and will work with campus units to redistribute underutilized equipment.

Traffic Signal Work Coming to Orange and Walnut
During the week of July 20, crews will excavate near the Orange Boulevard and Walnut Avenue intersection to prepare for a new traffic signal. Please allow extra time when traveling through the area.

Wilkinson Alumna Earns Fulbright to Teach in Spain
Isa Alarcon ’25, a first-generation graduate in political science and sociology, will travel to La Rioja, Spain this fall as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant. She plans to bring her passion for human rights advocacy into
the classroom.

Chapman Physician Assistant Students Earn National Recognition
Eleven physician assistant students presented seven research abstracts at the 2026 American Academy of Physician Associates Annual Conference, placing Chapman among the top two institutions in the Project Innovation Exchange. Two students also received AAPA 2026 PA Student Scholarships.

Student Pharmacists Lead Community Health Fair
Chapman School of Pharmacy students hosted a community health fair at St. Cecilia Church despite being impacted by evacuation orders related to the Garden Grove chemical leak. Organized by the Vietnamese American Pharmacy Student Association (VAPSA) in partnership with AAWA-OC, the event provided health resources and support to community members while showcasing student leadership in the face of adversity.
