Faculty, students and staff,
Throughout October and November, Chapman will conduct standard fire/evacuation drills across multiple buildings on the Orange Campus. These types of drills are critical preparation in case of an emergency. During each test, the buildings’ fire alarms will sound and all occupants will be asked to exit. Buildings should return to normal occupancy within 30 minutes.
This tests will not include residence halls, as capability is tested at the start of each semester. The Rinker Campus will also participate in an evacuation drill, and a separate communication for that campus will be forthcoming.
Here is what you can do to prepare:
- Review evacuation maps and information about the buildings where you work, learn, and live.
- Review the evacuation procedure video training.
- Ensure your contact information is updated in the Panther Alert system.
