Dear Colleagues,
Chapman has been actively working to engage with artificial intelligence in a thoughtful and responsible way. Last fall, we launched an AI Advisory and Governance Committee to develop policy recommendations, and the Faculty Senate established a Teaching and Learning Task Force to explore how AI might be incorporated into general education.
Both groups have been doing important work, and I am grateful to everyone who has given their time and expertise to this effort.
One of the things we heard consistently from both groups is that we need a clearer picture of how our community is currently using AI and how people feel about it. To that end, we have worked with Information Systems & Technology and Institutional Research and Decision Support to develop brief surveys for faculty and staff, and I am asking for your participation.
AI is increasingly shaping how work gets done across higher education and beyond. Your perspective on how you are currently encountering or using AI in your work — and how you feel about it — is valuable input as we develop policies and approaches that serve our entire community.
Please take a few minutes to complete the survey for your role by April 28:
Thank you for all you do to support Chapman’s mission every day.
